A Message From the Executive Director

Send a Kid to Camp

May 15, 2017

Dear Boys & Girls Club Supporter,

Another beautiful Finger Lakes summer approaches and we need your help. With more than two months without school, the Boys & Girls Club is making a special effort this summer to make sure all of Geneva’s kids make the most of these great weeks.

During this school year, we managed to provide nearly 9,000 hours of tutoring and mentoring to Boys & Girls Club members. Weekly, more than 75 Hobart and William Smith students flooded our afterschool hours with academic help and inspiration. Daily, great gains were made.

Starting in July, we will follow that up with the second year of Summer University, a mix of intellectual enrichment efforts and creative fun. We will partner with Geneva City School teachers to give our kids a fun and creative academic boost every morning. And, we’ll spend the afternoons immersed in arts, dance, theater, photography, crafts and exercise. Every Friday will include field trips to museums, parks and other broadening and fun summer experiences.

We will be working hard to make sure all of Geneva’s children learn to love summer the way we did in our youths.

The summer days are long and this is an expensive effort. We endeavor to serve all the kids who need us, but we can use your help. Inside is a brochure that lists the ways you can help “Send A Kid To Camp!’’ Any and all gifts help.

Thank you for all you do,

Chris Lavin
